Ochil 2000's - 25th August 2007

The concern in the weeks leading up to the start that we may not have arranged enough transport, proved unfounded we managed to get everyone to the start in plenty of time and even had a couple of spaces spare. After a slight delay with the start, we got the 61 runners away shortly after 12.
Other than a problem with the positioning of the Kite on Andrew Gannel, most people found it fairly easy to get to Ben Cleuch. It was after this the problems started Ben Ever or Ben Buck first? Then the difficult navigation to Blairdennon made much harder because of low cloud. Finally the difficulty of choosing a route to Dumyat 4 miles of often boggy ground with some areas of thick bracken. For the last half of the course runners were seen running in allsorts of different directions.
After 3 hours and 31 seconds, Andrew Symonds of Carnegie finally made it to the finish, followed some 8 minutes later by Chris Upson of Westies. Andrea Priestley was the first woman home in a time of 3:37:25.
In all 59 completed the course, all finishing in just over 5 and a half hours.
After lots of positive feedback on the race, well plan to run it again in 2008
Finally - thanks the Heather Ales who provided most of the prizes.
