Minutes of previous year. The minutes of the AGM held on 29th November 2004 were accepted as being correct.
Election of Office Bearers:
The following office bearers were elected:
- Convenor: No nominations were received.
- Treasurer: Alex King. Proposed John Stevenson, seconded David Scott.
- Secretary: Frank Kelly. Proposed Robin Watson, secondedViv Crampton.
- Club Captain: Despite being proposed again as clubcaptain John Stevenson decided to step down. After some discussion R. Watsonsuggested Dave Scott might like to take on the role. This was seconded by RonMcCraw.
- Lady Member: Niamh Mooney. Proposed Mary Abercrombie, secondedRobin Watson.
Dollar Hill Race:
OHR are due to host next years (2006) Dollar HillRace as part of the British Championship series. Since the race will be heldover the established longer course, we will need to be well prepared and also requirea substantial number of course marshals particularly if the weather isinclement.
Maddy Moss Hill Race:
AlthoughMaddy Moss Hill race 2005 was successful it was felt that the post raceatmosphere would benefit from having a focal point for the prize giving. It wassuggested that The Woolpack Inn might be able to accommodate us in thisrespect. Since most of the competitors have to travel a substantial distance toand from the event, many depart soon after they finish. This problem iscompounded by the fact that some runners take ninety minutes or more tocomplete the course. As a result, holding the prize giving in The Woolpack isproblematic. Despite these misgivings Dave Scott has suggested that we inquireabout the possibility of holding the prize giving there.
Treasurers Report:
Treasurer Alex King presented a statement ofthe accounts and reported a loss for the current year. Although income had beengenerated at Dollar Hill Race, revenue due from the Maddy Moss Hill Race andthe FRA Relays was still to be received. Approximately 300 was used tosubsidise two club training weekends. Since next years (2006) Dollar Race ispart of the British Championship series the club can expect to generate ahigher income than normal.
Currently OHR has 39 paid up club members.
Captains Report:
John Stevenson reported on the previousseasons hill racing and on the outcome of the Club Championship. OHRs start tothe racing season had been extremely successful, finishing 4thsenior team and 1st veterans at the Devils Burdens relays.Particular mention was made of David Scotts contribution, running some 4miles with a broken ankle. The club also done well at Bishop Hill Race, but ourperformance over the remainder of the season had been indifferent. Despite thisit was heartening to see large club turnouts at some events (including some newmembers), particularly at the Stuc AChroin and Dumyat races.
The members extended their congratulationsto Stuart Simpson, club champion for the second successive year, to runner upDavid Scott (who was also first club veteran), and also to 3rd placed NiamhMooney.
SAL Membership
The club had relinquished its membership ofSAL a few years ago due to their demands and bureaucratic attitude. JohnStevenson proposed that OHR rejoin SAL, although the negative aspect of this isthe cost to both club and competitor. Currently an individual member and theirassociated club each pay 15. The meeting was aware of the fact that some clubswere subsidising their SAL members. After discussion and a proposal from RobinWatson (seconded by Stuart Simpson) it was decided that the club would declareand subsidise their competing members for the next year, after which thesituation would be reviewed. Ron McCraw agreed to take forward the SALmembership issues.
Subscriptions:
Althoughwe will have increased expenditure due to SAL subsidy it was agreed that clubsubscriptions remain at 5, since we can expect increased income next year asmentioned earlier.
Weekend Runs:
AlexKing explained that he was currently updating OHRs website with a view tomaking it interactive. Although interest in regular weekend training runsremained, attendance over the previous year had been erratic. Their was someconcern among the meeting that prospective new members would arrive at venueslisted on the web site to discover that no current club members were there. VivCrampton has suggested that members communicate their intention to train onweekends via telephone until the new web site is active.
 AOB:
Due to the success of the 2004 Christmasouting to Ben Vrackie (followed by food and drink at the Moulin Inn) it wasdecided to repeat this on the Sunday prior to Christmas i.e. 18thDecember.
